Stand aside, On My Own!

If you thought that "I love him... but only on my own" and the rest of that song were the most saksak-dibdiban sa pagkapathetic yet poetic lines about acceptedly—is that a word?—unrequited love, you were wrong! This is what takes the cake:

But the man I met. He is the love I've wanted to reach long before I knew that he existed. And I think he will remain beyond my reach. But that I love him will be enough to keep me living.

--- Dagny Taggart speaking of John Gault to Hank Rearden in Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged.

What say you? ;-)

Hinahanap ko pa rin si Atlas Shrugged, actually, though I think I'm getting warm. Nakita ko na si Anthem at Fountainhead e.

  5. Mas pathetic yung

"But I was born for you, born to be right here by your side, 'til the end of time"

I have the sneaking suspicion that I merged two songs, there. Even in my head, nag-iba boses after the first comma.

  6. Pinagsama mo nga yata. Eto ba yung songs na iniisip mo?

    David Pomeranz's "Born For You"
That I was born for you
It was written in the stars
Yes, I was born for you
And the choice was never ours

and Eric Carmen's "I Was Born To Love You"
I was born to love you
Born to be right here by your side
    Through all your darkest nights
I was born to love you
Id do anything to make you mine
    Until the end of time
